Clinical Requirements

To ensure precise measurements, it is essential to calibrate the X-rays, as CT scans come pre-calibrated. For further details, please refer to the Image Configuration section.

To review the image acquisition protocol, please refer to the relevant section here. It is important to ensure that your images adhere to this protocol; otherwise, PeekMed web will not be able to process them.

If you encounter any issues, please report them by contacting support@peekmed.com.

Additionally, be mindful of common considerations such as bone and beam orientation, as well as marker placement, which are vital for effective planning without PeekMed web. By using PeekMed web, you can ensure that these essential recommendations are integrated into the medical images used for your case planning.

The medical images should clearly depict the anatomical bone as outlined in the table found in the "Add Case - Upload Medical Image" section.

Please ensure that all images used have been accurately acquired and calibrated. If a calibration marker was used during image acquisition, it is essential to verify that it was positioned correctly to facilitate proper calibration.

The measurements provided by PeekMed web are presented in universally recognized units for length and angles: millimeters (mm) for linear measurements and degrees (°) for angular measurements.

Please note that you have the ability to adjust the positions of the measurement landmarks1. To do this, simply click on each point with the left mouse button and drag it to the desired location. It is important to recognize that the accuracy of these points is crucial for ensuring precise measurements, so be sure to validate the position of each landmark after making adjustments.

The accuracy and precision of length and angle measurements have been established based on the latest advancements in the field. Below are the specific details regarding the accuracy and precision for both length and angle measurements:

Accuracy and precision for length measurements: +/- 0.50mm

Accuracy and precision for angle measurements: +/- 0.30°

Effective usage of PeekMed web necessitates the expertise of trained healthcare professionals. These individuals must possess the skills to analyze and manipulate digital medical images during the planning process.

A stereoscopic view is essential for comprehending the various perspectives of objects and their positioning within different contexts.

It is crucial to ensure that both manual and automated steps within PeekMed web adhere to clinical standards.

If you encounter any challenges while using PeekMed web or if any issues arise, please reach out to Technical Support for assistance.

The quantitative imaging outputs are detailed in the User Manual.

To ensure that the lengths and angles measured by the PeekMed web's measuring function consistently align with actual dimensions, a thorough validation process is conducted before the public release of PeekMed web. This process involves comparing the measurements obtained from PeekMed web to those taken with a calibrated tool, verifying that the function operates as intended and in accordance with Peek Health claims. All clinical procedures within PeekMed web utilize the same mathematical formulas for measuring length and angles. Consequently, a single clinical procedure was selected for validation, serving as a representative example for all procedures.

The release of PeekMed web occurs only after the validation results confirm that the accuracy and precision criteria have been satisfactorily met.
