Description
Shoulder resurfacing can be used in the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, post dislocation arthritis, and osteonecrosis. For resurfacing, the prosthetic head is placed on the natural humeral head.
The favorable results of shoulder resurfacing are no doubt partially due to the ability to obtain the correct version, inclination, offset and size.
Measurements
The measurement made by the procedure is displayed in the image:
- Humeral Head Diameter (HHD): diameter of the humeral head;
- Humeral Head Height (HHH): height of the humeral head.

Beware: you can change the position of the points at this stage or later. To do this, simply click on each handle with the left mouse button and move them to the most suitable position.

Advanced Configuration
With this procedure, it is possible to perform the Auto templating of the humerus using its corresponding option in Object edition. This placement uses the points marked by you during the procedure. The Auto templating detects the humeral head component that better matches the humeral head diameter and places it in the planning view, which you can adjust on the configuration window. Besides, you can adjust the positioning of the humeral head component by adjusting the template on the planning view.
